RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission (PRCSC) discuss the options that the PRCSC has to communicate recommendations to City Council; (2) if desired, select a Commissioner to draft a letter to the City Council for review at a future PRCSC meeting; and, (3) if desired, select a Commissioner to attend a City Council Meeting and speak on the behalf of the PRCSC.
BACKGROUND
At the October 3, 2023, PRCSC meeting, a discussion ensued about the City's recent purchase of the property near La Ballona Elementary School. The Commissioners at that time shared their desire to have more parks space and more facilities to offer community programming. There was a desire among all the Commissioners to speak with the City Council to share their thoughts on how the City can best utilize the new property to expand either park space or community space.
