RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission discuss organizing and hosting a summit of City of Culver City Commissions.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION
At the May 3, 2016 PRCS Commission meeting, Regina Klein, Chair of the City of Culver City Cultural Affairs Commission, spoke during the "Public Comment - Items Not on the Agenda" portion of the meeting, mentioning programming, collaboration between Commissions, the new Cultural Affairs Commission column in the Culver City News, increasing communication within the community and maximizing shared resources. Ms. Klein invited everyone to attend a Cultural Affairs Commission meeting. Subsequently, Commissioner Stuart received consensus to place an item on the agenda for the next meeting to consider holding a summit of several Commissions with similar missions to discuss cross-over of issues and collaboration. This Agenda Item has been prepared to give Commission Members the opportunity to hold this discussion.
