BACKGROUND: In 2004 the City was informed that pursuant to the State s Trial Court Facilities Transfer legislation which authorized the closure of several courthouses throughout California the Los Angeles County Superior Court would be ceasing its activities in the Culver City Courthouse effective March 31 2005 and transferring those activities to the Santa Monica Courthouse.
