RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee approve the draft of the run of show for Juneteenth 2026 Celebration with amendments, if any.
BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION
The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) is tasked with advising staff from Economic Development with the planning of the Juneteenth 2026 Celebration. With the timeline of the event approximately a month away, staff has put together a draft of the run of show (attachment 1) for the Advisory Committee to discuss what are appropriate events and activities and at what time they will occur.
Staff is presenting a populated draft run of show for the Juneteenth 2026 Celebration. The Advisory Committee will review and provide input on program elements, to help refine the sequence and timing to ensure a cohesive event.
The Committee should also confirm key logistics, including event start and end times, arrival and setup schedules for staff, vendors, and technical teams, and dedicated rehearsal time for performers to ensure smooth execution on the event day.
