RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Civil Service Commission approve the new recruitment bulletin for Transit Operations Manager.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

In August 2001, the Civil Service Commission approved the classification specification for Transit Operations Manager due to the reclassification of the Senior Management Analyst position. This position is assigned to the Transportation Department and is categorized as a classified position in accordance with the City's Civil Service Rules.
The Transit Operations Manager is responsible for the daily transit operations for the City's Transportation Department which provides daily transit service for the City of Culver City and surrounding communities.
The Transportation Department provides public transit service on seven (7) regular routes and a bus rapid transit (BRT) route throughout Culver City and West Los Angeles. The Department is responsible for the planning, delivery, and monitoring of mobility services with Culver CityBus fixed route(s) being the foundation of the Department's services. The Department consists of three divisions: Transit Operations, City Fleet Services, and Transportation Administration Services.
