Fulwood (04/05/06) RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council authorize staff to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with Kleinfelder Inc. for a soil analysis of the Skateboard Park located at Culver City Park 9910 Jefferson Boulevard for a cost not to exceed $6 880.00. DISCUSSION: Kleinfelder Inc. had performed a soil analysis previously on the grassy bowl area when it was the selected site for the Skate Board Park Project P 830 on February 13 2006. On March 6 2006 that site was changed to where the temporary skate board park is currently located. The soil analysis is needed to document and assure that oil contamination is not an issue at the site prior to placing a public recreational facility there. This analysis is recommended to be performed on the new site location. The first agreement had a not to exceed amount of $8 635. This second proposed agreement is for a not to exceed amount of $6 880. Cumulatively these amounts exceed the $10 000 threshold for staff discretion and thus are required to be approved by City Council. Therefore staff recommends that the proposal of $6 880 be approved by City Council. FISCAL ANALYSIS: The amount budgeted in Fiscal Year 2005/06 for the Skateboard Park Project was $408 000.
