BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Culver City Council Resolution 06-R001 adopted on January 9th, 2006 prohibits bicycling, skateboarding, and rollerskating on Town Plaza premises. The Public Works Department received requests initiated by the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and community members to allow cycling and scooting in Town Plaza.

Staff will present a Draft Resolution that would supersede 06-R001 to allow bicycling and scooting on Town Plaza, along with provisions regarding appropriate maximum riding speed limit, means for enforcement, and practices during special events. This is a discussion item to seek the Subcommittee’s feedback and recommendations prior to City Council consideration.
