Fulwood (03/07/07) Staff recommends the City Council select and appoint Lupe Mercado to the position of Culver City s Trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles County West Vector Control District to fill the remainder of a two year term ending on December 31 2008. BACKGROUND: The City of Culver City is entitled to appoint a representative (Trustee) to the Los Angeles County West Vector Control District. This position was previously filled by Kenneth W. Lock with his term ending December 31 2006. Mr. Lock respectfully declines reappointment. The California Health and Safety Code restricts first time appointments of Trustees to a two (2) year term and a pre set term period has been established for each city s trustee in order to provide for evenly spaced turnovers on the Board. The current two year term for Culver City s Trustee began on January 1 2007 and will end on December 31 2008.
