RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) (1) draft a letter from the DAC to supporters of 2025 Disability Awareness Month; and (2) authorize transmittal of the letters to the intended recipients.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the August 14, 2024, regular meeting, the DAC expressed interest in drafting a letter of thanks to the manager of the Culver City Julian Dixon Library for her support of the month-long Disability Awareness Month display at their location, as was done by the committee in 2023. After some discussion, it was decided to expand the issuing of thank you letters to other supporters of Disability Awareness Month, including groups and individuals that assist with the annual Abilities Carnival and Resource Fair. At the October 9, 2024, regular meeting, the DAC voted to designate a committee member to draft personalized letters to four supporters: Culver City Exchange Club, Culver City Neighborhood Girl Scouts, Culver City Julian Dixon Library, and Culver City Senior Citizens Association.
