Fulwood (03/21/07) RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the City Council consider a fee waiver request made by the Culver City Exchange Club (the Exchange Club ) for the Culver City Car Show. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION The Culver City Exchange Club is proposing to host the Fourth Annual Culver City Car Show on May 12th. As proposed the car show would be presented in the same general area as in the prior three years: along Culver Boulevard from Duquesne Avenue to the south and Ince Boulevard on the north. DISCUSSION In 2006 staff recommended and City Council approved a fee waiver requested by the Exchange Club and the Culver City Downtown Business Association who were then the joint promoters of the event. Tonight the City Council is asked to consider the subject of the fee waiver for this year s event. The Exchange Club has also submitted a Special Event Permit application which will be heard by the Committee on Permits and Licenses (the Committee ). The Committee has authorized permits for this event in each of the prior years. Mr. Jeff Cooper representative of the Exchange Club has submitted information to staff related to the planned layout of the 2007 Car Show.
