RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission host Community Conversations - Topic #6: Character and Community Building in Youth Athletics, participate in the discussion as deemed appropriate, and receive and file the report.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On February 3, 2015, the PRCS Commission selected a topic for Community Conversations - Topic #6 with the working title "Character and Community Building in Youth Athletics," formed the Community Conversations - Topic #6 Ad Hoc Subcommittee, and appointed Commissioner Garland and Commissioner Marin to the newly-formed Ad Hoc Subcommittee. Over the past several months, the members of the Ad Hoc Subcommittee have been planning and organizing this event. As per the Commission-adopted guidelines for Community Conversations, publicity for this Community Conversation was handled primarily by Commissioners Garland and Marin, with the assistance of City staff.
