CITY BY CITY ESTIMATES OF IMPACTS OF LAO S PROPOSED SHIFT OF CITY PUBLIC SAFETY FUNDING FOR PAROLE COSTS A provision in the Legislative Analyst Elizabeth Hill s recently released alternative budget proposal would shift state parole responsibilities to counties and fund it by taking away city public safety dollars. City officials will want to review the League s analysis of the Legislative Analyst s Office s (LAO) proposal which includes city by city estimates of the potential impact.
