RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee 1) Receive and File the Draft of the Run of Show and 2) Approval of One of the Venue Options for the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration 2025.


BACKGROUND

The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) is tasked with advising Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) staff with the planning of the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration for 2025. With the timeline of the event being three months away, staff has put together a draft of the run of show and venue options for the Advisory Committee.


DISCUSSION

Staff is presenting a draft of the run of show for the committee consideration and is recommending several locations that could be utilized for the event to the Advisory Committee. When considering the best location for the event, it is best to consider:

* The potential to engage the community effectively.
* The capacity of the venue.
* Public access to the event.
