BACKGROUND: At the City Council meeting of October 27 2014 the City Council directed the City Manager to place the consideration of the position of Honorary City Poet Laureate on a future agenda. Pursuant to that direction this report is present to the City Council this evening. DISCUSSION: Dr. Janet Hoult has provided the attachments for the City Council s consideration. FISCAL IMPACT: Using the City s experience with the position of Honorary City Historian as a guide should the City Council determine to create and appoint someone to the position of Honorary City Poet Laureate with a role similar to Honorary City Historian the fiscal impact of the creation of the position of Honorary City Poet Laureate is not expected to be material.
