Fulwood (02/08/2007) Staff recommends the City Council approve a budget amendment to appropriate $21 172.00 for the purchase of replacement traffic signal preemption devices Project P 882 (formerly project T 1008). A four fifths affirmative vote is required to amend the budget. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: On May 22 2006 the City Council approved the purchase of replacement traffic signal preemption devices. At that time it was assumed that the project budget had sufficient funds to purchase the preemption devices. A current review of the budget shows that the project was not funded with $20 000 of matching funds with gas tax. Further in order to sufficiently fund the project an additional $1 172. is required. In reviewing the matching funding sources it is recommended that in lieu of the gas tax the Playa Vista Mitigation funds be used instead. It is recommended that the City Council approve the budget amendment in order to have sufficient funding to complete the project.
