Fulwood (06/07/06) City Controller Approval: Marlee Chang (06/07/06) RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council approve the request for proposal (RFP) for competitive swim team services at the Culver City Municipal Plunge and authorize staff to advertise for proposals for such services. BACKGROUND: The Parks Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Department has traditionally rented pool space when available to interested groups such as Master Swimmers Competitive Swim Teams the Culver City Unified School District and others. DISCUSSION: It is the PRCS Department s intention through the proposal process to see if there is enough interest on the part of any competitive swim teams to enter into a long term (3 5 years) lease with the City to provide an ongoing progressive and consistent competitive swim team experience for the youth (up to age 18 years) of Culver City.
