RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council discuss the subject of City Council Policy
Priorities and direct the City Manager as deemed appropriate.
DISCUSSION:
As briefly mentioned at the City Council meeting of February 1, 2010, the City
Manager has recommended the City Council may wish to discuss individual Council
Members’ policy priorities and see which items receive majority support for further
direction to the City Manager.
With the very challenging budget environment being faced by the City, it is important
to have this discussion with an understanding of the reduced level of staff and
financial resources projected to be available in Fiscal Year 2010-2011 (and most
likely in several fiscal years beyond).
This discussion will assist the City Manager in developing agenda items for
upcoming Council meetings.
