RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration & Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee receive and file an update from the members of the Juneteenth's Ad Hoc Subcommittees.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Juneteenth Ad Hoc Subcommittees was established September 18, 2024 and October 16, 2024 . This is an opportunity for them to check in with their progress and share updates. The following are the Ad Hoc Subcommittees:
* PR and Marketing for Juneteenth & MLK Celebrations
* History and Culture for Juneteenth
* Entertainment and Talent for Juneteenth
* Sponsorship/Donation for Martin Luther King Jr. & Juneteenth
A subcommittee's primary role is to support the special event staff by identifying opportunities and strategies for enhancing the Juneteenth Celebration event. This report serves as an update from the subcommittee members on their progress and recommendations.
