(Comcast) and authorize the Chief Administrative Officer to accept said Grant on behalf of the City. A Budget Amendment is recommended and requires a 4/5ths vote. BACKGROUND: During recent discussions Comcast officials notified the City of Comcast s offer to provide the City with a Technology Grant (Grant) in the amount of $25 000. The Grant was offered by Comcast with payment to the City to be made no later than March 16 2006. DISCUSSION: Should the City Council approve and authorize the CAO to accept the Grant the proceeds would be placed in the City s General Fund and be available for appropriation by the City Council for any purpose. It should be noted Staff has considered applying these funds as partial offset to inspection costs related to the upcoming cable television inventory (specifically the proposed contract with Kramer.Firm Incorporated). A request for this contract is being included with the Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2006/2007.
