RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve the final plans and specifications and authorize the publication of a Notice Inviting Bids for the Police Department Locker Room and Restroom Renovation Project, PF020.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Located at 4040 Duquesne Avenue, the current police building was originally constructed in 1967 and subsequently expanded and renovated in 1978 and again in 1998. In 1998, the facilities underwent an extensive remodel, including the restrooms and locker rooms, which have since been maintained by the City's facility's team. Within the last five years, the restrooms and locker rooms have been experiencing infrastructure decline, including water leaking between floors and leaking plumbing fixtures. A remodel of the restrooms and locker room is needed to accommodate the growing staff, resolve the aging infrastructure within the building, and to upgrade to meet current ADA building code requirements



Scope of work for the project includes:

- Upgrading (2) lobby restrooms to gender neutral restrooms, ADA compliance, new finishes and fixtures
- New finishes of (2) sets of men's and women's restrooms on the second floor, including new paint, lights and fixtures
