RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) 1) Receive Staff program summary and recommendations for best practices when considering 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Programming 2) Provide feedback and recommendations to the City's Olympic Subcommittee as appropriate.
BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION
As a continuation of the December 2024 and January 2025 CAC meeting, the complete Background & Discussion for this item can be found on the attached Staff Reports dated 12/17/2024 and 1/21/2025.
On January 21, 2025 CAC members reviewed five programmatic proposals from members of the public including:
* David Mack on behalf of Artist Magnet Justice Alliance for a proposed CCLA28 festival including pop-up performances and activations at multiple locations in Culver City and beyond in collaboration with multiple performing arts organizations and venues.
* Alicia Ide and Jim Clarke on behalf of Culver City Arts Foundation (CCAF), regarding an arts space activation including the possibility for a new municipal arts center, a Film Festival, Gateway art, and City support for the CCAF Mural Project and a CCAF art and historical tour app.
