RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) adopt a resolution approving participation in Year 4 and Year 5 of the Local Housing Allocation Program (PLHA) through the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA); (2) authorize the continued use of this funding to provide rental assistance for participants transitioning from the City's homeless interim housing programs; and (3) approve of a related budget amendment appropriating the Year 4 funds (requires a four-fifths vote).
BACKGROUND
The PLHA provides funding to local governments in California for housing-related projects and programs that assist in addressing the unmet housing needs of their local communities. The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) provides PLHA funding to the County of Los Angeles (County) through the LACDA.
