Fulwood (07/23/08) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council approve a budget amendment to appropriate $40 000 from the Playa Vista Traffic Mitigation Fund to the Sawtelle Boulevard Widening at Venice Boulevard Project P 851. A 4/5th vote is required to approve the budget amendment. BACKGROUND: The adopted capital improvement budget includes the Sawtelle Boulevard Widening at Venice Boulevard P 851. The purpose of the project is to widen the west side of Sawtelle Boulevard from Venice Boulevard to the alley south of Venice Boulevard and restripe the street to provide a northbound left turn lane from Sawtelle Boulevard to Venice Boulevard. The project also includes installation of a left turn phase on Sawtelle Boulevard southbound to eastbound Venice Boulevard in the City of Los Angeles. The project is a joint venture with the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT). LADOT received an MTA grant for the project.
