RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve a budget amendment appropriating $55,000 from the West Washington Benefit Assessment District #1 to Capital Improvement Project (CIP) #PZ638 for refurbishment of medians at Zanja Street and Washington Boulevard (budget amendment requires four-fifths vote).
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Economic Development, Public Works, and Parks, Recreation and Community Services Departments have been working together for the last several months to repair and replant the medians located at the intersection of Zanja Avenue and Washington Boulevard due to a series of vehicular accidents. The project is jointly funded by the City and the West Washington Benefit Assessment District #1, relative to electrical repair and ground replanting.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
Staff is requesting a budget amendment appropriating $55,000 from the West Washington Benefit Assessment District #1 (Division #42516510) to CIP Project #PZ638 (Median Island Rehabilitation) for refurbishment of medians at Zanja Street and Washington Boulevard. Funding for this work was outlined in Fiscal Year 2024/2025 West Washington Boulevard #1 Engineers Report, however an allocation to CIP Project #PZ638 is necessary to engage services.
