Fulwood (03/19/09) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council adopt a Resolution (Attachment 1) authorizing the filing of a Corporation for National and Community Service grant application for the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for the three year cycle including Fiscal Years 2009 2010 2010 2011 and 2011 2012. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: The Culver City Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will begin its 36th year of successful operation in April 2009. In the past year 520 volunteers provided volunteer work for a wide variety of community agencies and organizations and provided 123 988 hours of volunteer assistance. The RSVP volunteers have been very valuable in assisting the City of Culver City the Culver City Unified School District local non profits hospitals and other community organizations by contributing hundreds of thousands of hours to these public services over the years.
