RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission select, by majority vote, a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to serve in that capacity until the next reorganization in July 2025 or thereafter.
BACKGROUND & PROCEDURE
At the special meeting on June 3, 2024, the City Council considered six (6) eligible applications for the Cultural Affairs Commission and interviewed the three (3) candidates in attendance at that meeting.
At the following regular meeting of the City Council on June 10, 2024, Damon Willick was appointed as a new Commissioner to Seat 3 for a First Term (July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2028). The City Clerk confirmed that Commissioner Willick attended Brown Act and Ethics Training on June 27, 2024 and was administered the Oath of Office at that meeting.
Chair Williams shall preside over the meeting and take nominations for the selection of a new Chair and Vice Chair for Fiscal Year 2024 - 2025. The newly selected Chair shall preside over the meeting upon the conclusion of this agenda item.
