Nachbar (04/16/14) Action Item: x City of Culver City California Agenda Item Report RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council receive and file the final draft of the Culver City Fire Department s (Department) 2014 5 Year Community Driven Strategic Plan. BACKGROUND: Beginning in September 2013 staff endeavored to update the 2009 Strategic Plan to assure that the Department s mission vision and goals continue to be in line with the needs of the citizens and stakeholders of the City of Culver City. The first Culver City Fire Department Strategic Plan was developed in 1998 as part of the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) accreditation process. The Department has been generating a 5 Year Strategic Plan ever since. In an effort to further improve Department staff engaged with the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) to facilitate the community driven strategic planning process in 2013. The plan was written in accordance with the CFAI standards and guides the Department within established parameters set forth by the City Council.
