RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) (1) dissolve the Ad Hoc 2015 Culver City Performing Arts Grant Program Subcommittee; (2) create the Ad Hoc 2016 Culver City Performing Arts Grants Program Subcommittee; and (3) assign Commissioners to Ad Hoc and Standing Subcommittees for Fiscal Year 2015/2016.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
At its first regular meeting in July of each year, the Cultural Affairs Commission reviews its subcommittees in light of the City Council adopted budget and work program for Cultural Affairs for the coming year, and two Commissioners are assigned to two or more of the CAC's subcommittees. Pursuant to a request from the CAC at its meeting on June 9, 2015, this item was carried forward to the regular meeting in August so that all CAC members could be present.
Subcommittee meetings are held on an as-needed basis, with some subcommittees meeting monthly and others once or twice within a twelve month period. In general, "ad hoc" subcommittees serve only a limited or single purpose, are not perpetual, and are dissolved when their specific task is completed.
