Fulwood (04/01/09) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Culver City Redevelopment Agency ( Agency ) approve an extension to the existing Agreement with National Construction Rental in an additional amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10 000) for providing temporary electrical power and security lighting at 4044 through 4068 Globe Avenue (seven (7) adjoining properties). BACKGROUND: In 2004 the Agency purchased seven (7) surplus properties from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Originally these seven (7) single family properties were acquired by Caltrans for the purpose of widening the 405 Freeway. The Caltrans project required the removal of six (6) garages and one (1) entire single family home significantly reducing the lot depths. This left these properties without future garages and substandard driveways. The Agency purchased these properties with the intent to create affordable housing opportunities.
