RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council adopt the Ordinance amending the City’s current
animal control regulations relating to the voluntary licensing of cats, and fees, fee
exemptions and license terms for cats and dogs.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
At the City Council meeting of June 25, 2007, the Council introduced the Ordinance
by a unanimous vote (5-0). The Ordinance is brought back tonight for adoption.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
As mentioned at an earlier City Council meeting where this subject was discussed,
there was an initial estimated income of $5,000 related to mandatory cat licensing.
With the adoption of this Ordinance, this income would not be realized.
