BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

At its May 28, 2024, meeting, the City Council authorized staff to submit an Active Transportation Program (ATP) and other grant applications for the Better Overland & Safer Fox Hills Project.

Staff will continue to perform public outreach & stakeholder engagement regarding the project's design through 2024. While outreach will include information on the project as a whole, particular emphasis will be placed gathering feedback regarding the design of Overland Ave between Culver Blvd and Virginia Ave where two alternatives are currently proposed:

* Alternative A: Maintain parking on both sides of street. Implement left turn restrictions at unsignalized intersections.
* Alternative B: Maintain center turning lane. Parking retained on east side of street.

Staff anticipate conducting outreach through a variety of means, including QR code surveys, community open houses, and walk audits. These engagement methods proved to be effective during the previous phases of public outreach.
