Commendations to Susan Deen Chair of the 2005 Fiesta La Ballona Committee and Certificates of Recognition to Fiesta La Ballona Volunteers.

COMMENDATION
SUSAN DEEN
WHEREAS, the City of Culver City takes great pride in the full quality of life and its citizens look forward to the City’s
annual Fiesta La Ballona celebration created in 1951 which promotes better relations among all people; and
WHEREAS, Susan Deen volunteered as Chair of the Fiesta La Ballona Committee to direct 29 Committee volunteers in
monthly meetings and numerous subcommittee meetings for an entire year in order to plan the 2005 Fiesta La Ballona; and
WHEREAS, Susan Deen spent countless hours handing out promoting the 2005 Fiesta La Ballona at every opportunity; and
WHEREAS, through the efforts of 2005 Fiesta La Ballona Committee under the direction of Susan Deen was able to increase
vendor booths by 13% over the previous year, increase gross revenues by 23% over last year; and
WHEREAS, under the supervision of Chair Susan Deen, the Fiesta La Ballona Committee was able to improve the quality of
the event by providing 15 community performances, 10 quality main stage bands, a variety of food vendors and offer an event with
something for residents of all ages; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Culver City, California hereby commends
Susan Deen for her outstanding effort in ensuring the City of Culver City was provided with a quality community event.
