Baker) (11/17/09) City Manager Approval: Mark Scott (11/19/09) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council consider creation of the Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Affordable Housing provide a charge and target return date (if the Ad Hoc Subcommittee is created) and appoint two Council Members to the Ad Hoc Subcommittee. BACKGROUND: During a recent City Council meeting the City Council directed staff to return with an agenda item related to the creation of an Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Affordable Housing for the City Council s consideration. DISCUSSION: During the annual City Council reorganization held on April 27 2009 the City Council appointed Council Member Malsin and Council Member Silbiger to the Joint City Council/Planning Commission Housing Element Subcommittee. While the housing element issue is drawing to a close the City Council may wish to appoint these two Council Members to a newly formed Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Affordable Housing.
