RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution establishing an initial permit application fee and an annual permit renewal fee for establishments engaged in the business of selling, leasing or otherwise transferring firearms and ammunition in the City.
BACKGROUND
On December 12, 2022, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2022-010, codified as Culver City Municipal Code (CCMC) Chapter 11.19, which requires that each establishment engaged in the business of selling, leasing or otherwise transferring firearms and ammunition in the City of Culver City (City) obtain a regulatory permit.
CCMC Section 11.19.025 specifies that "[e]ach application for a regulatory permit shall be accompanied by a nonrefundable fee for administering this Chapter as established by City Council resolution." This is the initial permit application fee.
