Nachbar (01/06/12) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council consider a request from the Culver Hotel related to use of the public right of way (Town Plaza) as part of the proposed West Coast Documentary and Reality Conference (Westdoc Conference) and direct the City Manager as deemed appropriate. BACKGROUND: During the City Council meeting of December 12 2011 the City Council was addressed by Mr. Seth Horowitz General Manager of the Culver Hotel. Mr. Horowitz advised the City Council of the potential of the Westdoc Conference coming to Culver City in September 2012. As part of his presentation Mr. Horowitz estimated that the hosting of the Westdoc Conference in Culver City would be beneficial to the Culver Hotel the Pacific Theaters and to the City in general. He requested assistance from the City and the Redevelopment Agency.
