RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve the final plans and specifications and authorize the publication of a notice inviting bids for CDBG ADA Transition Plan Curb Ramps Project (CDBG Project No. 602150-19 and 602274-20).
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On June 24, 2019, the City Council approved Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) fund allocation for fiscal year 2019-2020 which includes the upgrading of existing curb ramps to ADA compliant curb ramps on Overland Avenue. The CDBG project number associated with this fund allocation is 602150-19.
On December 9, 2019, the City Council approved CDBG fund allocation for fiscal year 2020-2021 which includes the upgrading of existing curb ramps to ADA compliant curb ramps on Centinela Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard. The CDBG project number associated with this fund allocation is 602274-20.
These curb ramps are located along streets that were repaved or are to be repaved in order to be in compliance with State funding guidelines. Since both of these CDBG projects are of similar scope, and to streamline construction, the projects have been combined into one set o...
