Nachbar (07/08/14) Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager or Designee to execute any actions necessary for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance provided by the California Governor s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) under the Proposition 1B Transit Security Program. BACKGROUND: In November 2006 voters approved the Highway Safety Traffic Reduction Air Quality and Port Security Bond Act of 2006 as California State Proposition 1B. Proposition 1B contains a variety of funds which are administered by different agencies each with its own funding allocation processes. For Fiscal Year 2013/2014 $10 million in bond funds have been allocated to Los Angeles County through the Proposition 1B Transit Security Program.
