Nachbar (10/08/14) Action Item: General Fund: Yes No X Attachments: X RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council adopt a Youth Employment Plan for the Syd Kronenthal Park Playground Rehabilitation Project PZ 831. BACKGROUND: On October 22 2012 the City Council adopted a Resolution approving the application for grant funds from the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District (the District ) Excess Funds Grant Program for the Syd Kronenthal (SK) Park Playground Rehabilitation Project. On March 5 2013 the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved Proposition A Cities Excess Funds in the amount of $250 000.00 for the Project. The fully executed Grant Agreement was received in July 2013 and in 2014 the project performance period (completion deadline) was extended to June 30 2015. DISCUSSION: As a condition of receiving reimbursement for Project costs the District requires that the grantee must first adopt a Youth Employment Plan for the Project at a duly noticed public meeting.
