(PSS) for the repair of four decorative light columns located at Town Plaza in an amount not to exceed $36 900. BACKGROUND: Town Plaza has four decorative columns that provide lighting. Over the years these columns have been vandalized which has caused the concrete to break off and expose the underlying rebar and steel frame. DISCUSSION: The proposed work will include upgrading the existing styrofoam inserts to aluminum encapsulating the column corners with a metal frame and adding skateboard stops to deter skateboarders from skidding the corners. (Although skateboarding is prohibited in Town Plaza it is still important to have these stops in place to protect the columns from damage created by those skateboarders who do not follow the rules.)
