RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Parks,Recreation and Community Services (PRCS)
Commission (1) review the schedule of 2014 Parks, Recreation and Community
Services Commission Meetings; and, (2) approve the 2015 Meeting Schedule.
BACKGROUND:
The meetings of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission
typically occur on the first Tuesday of the month in the Mike Balkman Council
Chambers at City Hall. It is customary for the Commission to set the meeting
schedule for the next calendar year at the July meeting.
DISCUSSION:
The previously approved meeting schedule for the remainder of 2014 is as follows.

* During elections, the Council Chambers is used to tabulate and televise
election results and the Patacchia Conference Room is a voting site.
The 2015 United States general elections will be held on Tuesday, November 3,
2015. This off-year election will only feature special elections to the United States
Congress. There will also be gubernatorial and state legislative elections in a few
states; as well as numerous citizen initiatives, mayoral races, and a variety of other
local offices on the ballot in some states. There is currently no information on the
Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s Schedule of 2015 Elections
indicating if an election will be held in Culver City on this date.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Although not quantified here, significant staff and financial resources are expended
for the purpose of holding PRCS Commission meetings. The majority of these
expenditures fall within the Administrative Division budget (account number
10130100).
MOTION:
That the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission:
1. Reviewthe schedule of remaining 2014PRCS Commission meetings; and,
2. Approve the2015Meeting Schedule.
