Fulwood (06/14/07) Phone Number: 310.253.5623 General Fund: Yes No X Attachments: X Action Item: X RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the City Council accept the work performed by the contractor Terno Inc and authorize filing a Notice of Completion for the Washington Boulevard Streetlight Project P 856 (CDBG # 600690 04). It is also recommended that retention funds in the amount of $14 868.69 be released to the contractor after the thirty five day lien period. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: On November 13 2006 the City Council awarded a construction contract to Terno Inc. for the Washington Boulevard Streetlight Improvement Project P 856. The existing streetlight system was identified as a priority for replacement and upgrade. The location of the work was on the north side of Washington Boulevard between Glencoe Avenue and Beethoven Avenue. Terno Inc. successfully completed the work as required in the contract. The work included directional boring to install new conduit with wiring and pull boxes. Also the existing luminaries and ballasts were replaced. The fluted steel poles were not replaced as they were already in good condition. Terno Inc. completed the streetlight improvement project required...
