RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council adopt an ordinance amending Chapter 3.06 of Title 3 of the Culver City Municipal Code (CCMC) which provides revisions and updates to the current CCMC provisions pertaining to campaign finance and other political activities.


BACKGROUND

On August 24, 2015, the City Council introduced an ordinance amending CCMC Chapter 3.06 pertaining to campaign finance and other political activities. As stated in the August 24, 2015 staff report, the proposed ordinance was brought forward to the City Council to consider proposed revisions, as significant sections of the existing ordinance are outdated and considered contrary to state, federal, and Constitutional law.
