Fulwood (01/23/2008) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council authorize the release of a Request for Proposals ( RFP ) for engineering design services for the Sepulveda Boulevard Widening Project (Playa Street /Jefferson Boulevard intersection to Green Valley Circle) P 881. BACKGROUND: On December 11 2006 the City Council approved the payment by Playa Capital Company LLC of $300 000 for use by the City of Culver City for the design and construction of the Sepulveda Boulevard Widening Project as a substitute improvement for the Playa Vista Drive Bridge pursuant to the Third Amendment to Agreement between the City of Culver City and Playa Capital Company LLC. The Sepulveda Boulevard corridor is classified as a Principal Arterial in the City. Currently within the project limits there are three (3) travel lanes northbound and two (2) travel lanes southbound between Playa Street/Jefferson Boulevard and Green Valley Circle.
