RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) 1) receive a staff presentation regarding a possible Communications & Outreach framework for the Cultural Affairs Division for 2026 - 2028; and 2) provide feedback and recommendations to Staff.

BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION

Staff is proposing an initial framework to guide how the Division of Cultural Affairs communicates its work at the local, regional, and national level over the next three years. The intent is to elevate awareness of Culver City's arts and cultural initiatives, highlight the advisory role and contributions of the Cultural Affairs Commission, and ensure the public has a clearer understanding of Cultural Affairs' programs, planning efforts, and community impact.

This framework is intentionally a high-level discussion. It focuses on achievable communications tools, such as short articles, brief press releases, and milestone updates, that can be implemented periodically using the existing staff time resource. The framework also anticipates coordination with the Ad Hoc Communications & Outreach Subcommittee, when it is filled, and the City's Communications and Public Information Manager to ensure alignment with Citywide communications practices.
