C O M M E N D A T I O N
FERNANDO RUBALCAVA
WHEREAS, Fernando Rubalcava has served the City of Culver City as a Bus Operator for two years; and
WHEREAS, at the 2
nd
Culver CityBus and Santa Monica Big Blue Bus Westside Roadeo held in Santa Monica, California on
August 13, 2005, Mr. Rubalcava was honored as the Culver CityBus Roadeo Champion; and
WHEREAS, as the Roadeo Champion, he represented Culver CityBus at the Southern California Regional Bus Roadeo in
Irvine, California on September 10
th
where he placed 6
th
out of 16 contestants; and
WHEREAS, he went on to compete in the American Public Transit Association’s (APTA) International Bus Roadeo in
Dallas, Texas on September 24, 2005 and placed 31
st
out of 69 contestants, which is the highest finish for any Culver City Bus
Operator.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Culver City hereby commends Fernando
Rubalcava for his exemplary skills in providing safe, reliable public transportation to the citizens of the City of Culver City and the
surrounding area.
