RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Mobility Subcommittee receive a presentation from staff, discuss, and approve the intersection of Farragut Dr and Le Bourget Ave for All-Way Stop control.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

On May 23, 2024, the Culver City received a request for traffic control (4-way stop) measures to be implemented at the intersection of Farragut Dr and Le Bourget Ave. Pursuant to the California MUTCD Chapter 2B.07 Multi-Way Stop Applications and the City's Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP), traffic data was collected on the approaches of Farragut Dr and Le Bourget Ave in November 2024 on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

City staff reviewed this data as a part of an engineering study and considered the following:

* Vehicle volumes entering the intersection from the major street (Farragut Dr).
* Vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle volumes entering the intersection from the minor street (Le Bourget Ave).
* Existing delay to vehicular traffic entering the intersection from the minor street.
* Crash history at the intersection and existing conflicts between road users.
