RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council: (1) ratify General Fund expenditures with Bound Tree Medical for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) supplies and medications; (2) waive competitive bidding requirements, pursuant to Culver City Municipal Code (CCMC) Section 3.07.075.F.3; and (3) approve a purchase order with Bound Tree Medical in an amount not-to-exceed $25,000 for additional EMS supplies for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Fire Department has maintained an annual blanket purchase order with Life Assist in the amount of $100,000 for the purchase of prehospital EMS supplies and medications. In November 2025, staff identified an opportunity to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs by transitioning to Bound Tree Medical. This transition was based on a comparative pricing analysis, which demonstrated that Bound Tree Medical provides lower pricing across the majority of high-use EMS supplies and medications.
