RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council and Redevelopment Agency receive an overview
presentation on the Fiscal Years 2009-10 and 2010-11 Proposed Budget for General
Government Departments, which include the City Council, City Manager’s Office,
City Clerk’s Department, Finance Department, Human Resources Department,
Information Technology Department, and City Attorney’s Department.
DISCUSSION:
This first budget study session of the Fiscal Years 2009-10 and 2010-11 Proposed
Budget occurred on May 26, 2009. The Chief Financial Officer gave a presentation
to City Council, which included a discussion of current economic conditions, insight
into how government finances work, and provided financial highlights for the
Proposed Budget. This evening the General Government Departments, which
include the City Council, City Manager’s Office, City Clerk Department, Finance
Department, Human Resources Department, Information Technology Department,
and City Attorney’s Department, will provide presentations of their budget proposals.

That the City Council and Redevelopment Agency:
Receive a presentation for the General Government Departments, which
include the City Council, City Manager’s Office, City Clerk Department, Finance
