RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Finance Advisory Committee (FAC) (1) receive reports from the Government Efficiency Ad Hoc Subcommittee; (2) receive reports from the Assets Ad Hoc Subcommittee; (3) receive reports from the Structural Revenue Review Ad Hoc Subcommittee; (4) receive reports from the FAC Anniversary Ad Hoc Subcommittee; (5) discuss report recommendations and determine next steps; and (6) provide direction to staff, if deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION
Based on the proposed Fiscal Year 2023 FAC Work Plan, the following FAC ad hoc subcommittees will offer reports for discussion, recommendations, and next steps:
• Government Efficiency Ad Hoc Subcommittee
o Members: Griffing, Jacobsen, Lachman, Menthe
o Purpose: This ad hoc subcommittee was established to research, implement, and continue a City Innovation Award Program to encourage employees, departments, or committee/advisory commission members to contribute towards increased efficiency, improved quality of life for Culver City residents, reduced costs and/or generated revenue, or demonstrated distinguished performance based on department goals/outcome measures.
• Assets Ad Hoc Subcommittee
o Members: Bauer, Griffing, Lachoff
o Purpose: This ad hoc subcommittee was established to analyze real property assets for Culver City, including but not limited to opportunities to maximize revenue at parks.
• Structural Revenue Review Ad Hoc Subcommittee
o Members: Bauer, De Matos, Jones, Lachman
o Purpose: This ad hoc subcommittee was established to identify and review all current revenue sources in the City.
• FAC Anniversary Ad Hoc Subcommittee
o Members: Griffing, Jacobsen, Menthe
o Purpose: This ad hoc subcommittee was established on March 8, 2023 to organize an event commemorating the 10-year anniversary of the FAC’s first meeting (May 8, 2013) and to highlight the FAC’s accomplishments since its formation.
