BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION

At their December 2, 2025, Regular Meeting, the PRCS Commission reviewed the fiscal year 2025-2026 PRCS budget and began discussions about requests the PRCS Commission would like to send to City Council.  At that time, Vice Chair Maggie Peters was approved to draft a letter for the PRCS Commission to review (Attachment 1).

The draft letter includes the following recommendations:

Staffing: In regard to full-time staff, the letter recommends funding the following new positions: One Management Analyst, and Two Maintenance Worker I. For part-time staff, the letter recommends providing additional wages for Youth Sports.

Playground Maintenance: The letter recommends increasing the operating budget in the Parks Division in order to better fund ongoing playground maintenance.

Youth Sports Programs: The letter recommends increasing the budget for the pilot youth sports programs in order to turn it into full-scale program.

Tellefson Park Renovation: The letter recommends funding the renovation of Tellefson Park in accordance with the recommendations found in the Parks Plan.

Lindberg Park Playground: The letter recommends funding the renovation of the playground at Lindberg Park in accordance with the recommendations found in the Parks Plan.
